What is the average cost per month for this email communication system? 
Difficult to figure out what purchase price ' sign up, monthly fees etc. add up to. 

your monthly costs will vary depending on 
1. the globalstar usage plan you select 
2. the amount of time you spend on the phone over the airtime allotted by your plan 
3. the xgate subscription you select.

if for example you plan to use no voice minutes and just download say 1 grib file per day and a few emails then your usage will be approximately 1-2 minutes per day. This would be for a GRIB file containing wind only for 3 days (12 forecasts for a region the size of the carribbean). Your monthly usage would then be 
 
$20 per month for xgate (one year plan) 
$39.99 for the orbit plan 40 (80 minutes per month) 
 
for a total of $60. 
 
The big question is... how much do you plan to use the phone? the more you use it the higher your monthly costs.
